WISeKey to offer m-payments platform in the US

Switzerland-based e-security infrastructure provider WISeKey launched its WISePay mobile platform, in the US in Sepember, in the wake of its 2008 commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI). The latter involved WISeKey developing a platform that would enable any mobile phone user to carry out payment transactions.

WISePay enables financial institutions, mobile operators, e-commerce and catalogue retailers to offer payment services outside Switzerland via WISeKey’s m-payments technology and servers based in Switzerland.

WISeKey’s mobile platform will be available in two versions – WISePay Virtual Money and WISePay Cash.

WISePay Virtual Money has been designed for mobile transactions based on virtual economies such as Multi-User-Domains and Massively Multi-Player Online Role-Playing Games.

WISePay Cash allows person-to-person transfers, bank account transfers, loan reimbursement, bill payments as well as mobile credit top-up.

The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) is intended to unite global companies with the aim of devising and implementing innovative services to address some of the world’s most pressing economic challenges.
